Overview

Bavaria Beer is available in 130 countries across the world and is a stalwart of UK supermarkets. It is the flagship beer of the Royal Swinkels Family Brewers – the largest independent family owned brewing group in the world, with a head office based outside Eindhoven in Holland.

When we began working with the brand it became apparent that whilst the beer was incredibly well known in its native Holland, it was suffering in most other territories. And that was because the brewery had neglected to tell the rest of the world what the Dutch already knew.

 

We set out a strategy approach, putting in place four new brand pillars as well as a RTB messaging heirarchy stack – once we had buy-in from the family we began creating global assets that supported the pillars of Heritage, Family, Location and Ingredients. These included brand guidelines with example adverts and explanations of how to use the pillars in films, social assets and web elements. We also created master films which were provided to the global market to back up their Reasons to Believe and to encourage B2B sales for distributors.

This branding push was so successful that social engagement began to rise globally. To celebrate the brand achieving 1,000,000 followers, we created more competition mechanics inviting the fans to become part of a new film.

 

We then created the 1,000,000 follower film which was pushed on paid social globally to an audience of million.
